Respitory Infection - Reassurance Please?

All the best for a good and smooth recovery!

Please see the vets asap if your boy is suddenly losing his appetite. It means that the abscess has filled up again and there is an infection. In that case, please ask for a stronger antibiotic like marbocyl or zithromax, which are the two best ones against stubborn abscesses. But I strongly hope that he'll heal off straight away.

He is on Septrin, Ranitidine, and Cisapride at the moment and his appetite is better than it has been for weeks but that is a really good thing to look out for thank you! I've to clean his wee wound with sterile water & cotton wool daily, & we're seeing the vet first thing Monday morning to check all is going ok.
Such a relief :)

Oh my goodness, you have both been through so much. I hlle he completely heals very soon. How scary :(

So 2 weeks later I thought I'd update! Duke had been put on antibiotics as he in turn caught the URI although was nowhere near as bad and has now a week later been given the all clear.

Gus's operation on his stomach has been successful and he's back to normal. Jumping about mad, chatting away, gaining weight steadily and just being his normal mischievous self.

Thank you all so much for the advice and tips and I'm sooo relieved my guys are back to full health!
