so for the 3rd time this year already, I find myself saying goodbye to another one of my puss cats, Salem.
Salem came into this world a couple of days after my birthday 16 years ago and was actually born in my hands - after I was 'midwife' to her mum, Topsy (who I lost last year). She was one of the cleverest cats I've had....it didn't take her long to learn how to jump on her mummy's shoulder from the arm of the settee. She loved nothing more than burying her head in my curly hair and pretending it was hers across her head. Unfortunately, despite having numerous tests we couldnt find the exact cause of her continued weight loss BUt we knew she had stage 1 bladder cancer and over the weekend, her heart deteriorated and she got an infection. I knew it was time to say goodbye to my baby girl. Salem, you were so precious and mummy will miss you so, so much but take comfort that you are with your feline mummy and daddy now.
Until we meet again my baby girl x

I'm so sorry that you had to say goodbye to Salem. She'll be snuggled up at the RB with her feline chums in the best and sunniest of spots. Hugs to you.

I am so sorry to read this, to lose three in one year must be absolutely devastating. Our furry family are such a huge part of our lives and they stay with us forever Massive hugs x x

Sleep well little one
RIP Salem
x x

Thanks all for your kind words. It's just sinking in properly. She's being cremated today and will be back with her mummy in the next couple of days. Trying to process what's happened, why and so quickly and if I've done the right thing....which I know we all ask ourselves at these times, but still x

You did the right thing, even though it's a very hard and heartbreaking decision, you stopped her from any more suffering x
