Rest in peace Primrose

Primrose was recently given to me because she had lost her cage mate and her owners wanted her to have companionship in her final days.

She quickly settled in becoming especially good friends with the two babies of the herd, Rosie and Cherry.

I noticed that she had been quiet when I fed them a couple of mornings ago. I syringe fed her water and a pellet mush but she wasnt keen, she did eat some banana which she seemed to enjoy.

Rosie stayed by her side constantly. The next morning Prims was very still and (uncharacteristicly) quiet when I served breakfast. She passed away peacefully an hour or so later.

I am so sorry for your loss. It seems we can never quiet prepare ourselves for this whether we’ve been through it before, whether it’s expected or not. The one thing you need to remin yourself is you have her a home surrounded with Guinea love when she needed it the most, sweet dreams primrose

It was very sweet to see Rosie in particular cuddle up to her in her final hours. She would always wash her eyes too. Guinea pigs are such lovely creatures arent they?
