today i have had to have pts one of my favourite piggies it was a very hard decision to make she came to me approx just over 2 years ago with her mum lola who sadly passed away in august this year from a family who were moving abroad ruby had been unwell with cystitus for which she was given septin for one week she seemed to perk up and was eating and no more blood in her urine this weekend she wouldent eat anything except grasss and she would only drink ifyou held the botle for her i syringe fed her science recovery over the weekend went to vets first thing this morning and they said it was not her teeth stopping her from eating as i thought it was she was x rayed and she had a bladder stone but it was in a difficult position near her pelvis vet said it was a riskey op due to her age she was approx 5years plus and she might have to have her womb removed and the vet said it was a very high risk she wouldent make it through the op so i made a very painfull decision but i will allways wonder if it was the right one the vet said she was in a lot of discomfort she is one of the piggies in my avatar

So very sorry for your loss.
Ruby and lola had a wonderful time with you and they are now reunited at rainbow bridge watching over their mummy who loves and misses them dearly.

I'm so sorry to hear your sad news. Run free at Rainbow Bridge sweet Ruby and send piggy kisses down to your family who are missing you terribly..
 
I am so sorry that Ruby was diagnosed with a bladder stone. Pts is a hard and heartbreaking decision; and doubts about it are natural, because you love Ruby and would so much have her happy, healthy and still with you!

Even if an operation was possible, the odds for a full recovery seem indeed not all that good, going on what I've witnessed since I've joined this forum.
I have had to pts my first piggy after her second bladder op when we couldn't get on top of the remaining infection in the bladder.

RIP Ruby - your mummy loves you very much!
 
It is a greast sadness to lose a little piggie ,so sorry.
 
so sorry that yu have lost your little guinea pig.....not easy which ever way they leave us!

Love you made a decision to do the right thing for Ruby, you'll always have the 'what if's' .......... she's now in a beautiful place where there's no more pain.
