My 5 year old guinea pig, Sophia was attacked by our new dog. Luckily, it was a small dog and a rather large guinea pig- she miraculously survived for a whole month with around the clock feedings and medication. She was such a survivor. I believe she would have made a full recovery- around the beginning of this month she was eating on her own and her sight was fully restored. We went to an exotic vet rather than our usual vet (for dogs) to get a second opinion on something- and thats when everything changed. Sophia was put on 6 different medications and it proved to be too much for her. We should have just left her alone. I never in a million years would have thought that an exotic vet would be the one to screw everything up. Poor Sophia- I am so so sorry this accident happened to you and that I couldn't save you. I tried everything, it turns out I was just making it worse. I will miss and love you forever. I hope you can forgive me and that you are no longer in any pain. I hope you have all the honey dew and mint leaves you can eat up there!

Aww poor little girl. Rest in peace Sophia. Mummy did all she could.

You will be missed.

RIP Sophia run free at the bridge, enjoy munching away on lots of mint, honey dew and dandelion leafies and have fun popcorning thru the lush green meadows, you'll be so very sadly missed but NEVER ever forgotten by your devastated family xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

I just wanted to thank you all so much! I really appreciate the support. I do have 2 other guinea pigs so I'm not pig-less haha. But they will never fill her shoes. Thank you again for the support.

Perhaps when you feel up to it, you'll pop a pigture thread in our stories/photo section for us to see your other beautiful babies x)
