I hadn't expected to post in this section again just a week after Bethan's death...
Unfortunately, I discovered a large, very fast growing mammary lump on Rhosyn, my permanent foster from the Excellent Adventure Sanctuary, two days ago and booked her in at the Cat&Rabbit Clinic in Northampton for the following day. Sadly, Kim (the vet) also discovered during the pre-op assessment that Rhosyn had an extremely irregular heartbeat that could have caused her to die suddenly at any time, which made the ensuing operation very high risk. If not operated, the tumour would have gone septic within a couple of weeks.
Sadly, Rhosyn's heart gave out during the operation. I am very grateful for Debbie (furryfriends), who runs the sanctuary, for doing all the taxi services and for being there, too, during the anxious wait and the bad news. Under the circumstances, we are both grateful that Rosa had two very happy, healthy years since her rescue from living as a single piggy with several rabbits. She adored her husboar Mallow/Maelog, who she managed very efficiently, leaving him to believe that he was running the show!
Rhosyn and Maelog had come to live here nearly a year ago first as temporary fosters for a couple of long spells and then staying on as temporary fosters after my OH gave in on the condition that they be bonded in with one of my existing groups. So the couple became new husboar and head sow of the recently bereaved elderlies Troop, where they were very efficient and friendly.
Maelog is missing his mate very much, but he has thankfully got his four other wives Ffraid, Ceri, Cariad and Nia to keep him from pining. The whole Tribe is still very subdued, as they always are.
Rhosyn showing off her gold and white legs on her arrival

Flirting with the neighbours (here with Bryn RIP)

Flaunting their dinner in the face of the Tribe

Taking part in wrecking Mali's travelling box

On the lawn with Maelog/Mallow

Joining the Troop

Always Maelog's top lady!

Lady at the top indeed!
