I have just been to the vet with my Shadow. She started walking funny yesterday, sort of slower then the rest of my piggys and abit wobbly. The vet said shes in great health :) so i was well happy. she also said she thinks Shadow has strained her back end and gave her an injection of painkiller and anti-inflammatory, Poor Shadow was so brave, I nearly cried as usual lol.
The vet asked about her diet and when I told her what I feed my piggys she was more then happy. She did suggest putting a couple of drops of ribena in her water if shes not eating so well. Has anyone ever heard of doing such a thing? She did say just a few drops but I'm worried the suger content might be too much. Anyway Shadow is eating fine for now, Hopefully she will start to feel better soon, Any advice greatly appreciated x :)

I would recommend you syringe a bit of Ocean Wave light cranberry juice instead or dissolve a bit of a vitamin C table in a little bit of water and syringe that for extra vitamin C. That way, you do not have to worry about added sugar.

Adding things to the water bottle won't help as you won't be able to controll the intake and things tend to go off quickly.By giving extra vitamin C directly, you can control the quality and the amount.

Vibes to poorly Shadow!

I wouldn't give much, perhaps 1 ml cranberry juice or vitamin C solution as you vet said just to top up the vitamin C.

Sorry to hear Shadow is a bit shaky, is she improving at all yet?

I do think extra Vit C for a few days is worthwhile. I like Oxbow Daily C tablets to give to guineas, quite expensive but I like the convenience of knowing how much is in them! Alternatively a pure Vitamin C tablet or powder from the chemist can be used; you can estimate a 50-100mg dose, mix with a little bit of water and syringe directly into guinea. :)

Shes still a little unsteady on her feet, The vet said her tummy was fine and Shadow did a pee pee on the table and the vet was pleased as she said her bladder is working ok :)) . She has eaten well tonight but she is very slow when walking, not like her at all. Shadow was 4 last month but always been in great health. Ive got everything crossed for her. Thank you for your tips I shall do a list of the things you have recommended and pop to the shops. I will give you an update tomorrow xx
