Ringworm Again?

image.webp Both my pigs were just cleared for ringworm! Then a I was snuggling with the one... he was stressed because of construction outside and the I notice this. You can clearly see the spot under his mouth. He has been off the mess for only two days! I really just don’t understand this anymore. I am immune to ringworm... don’t ask how cause I have no clue... but I am worried about him
Edit: it is really crusty and looks bloody. No trace of blood in his cage which is saying something cause his bedding is white

Hi! he may have picked up a spore from the bedding when sleeping or feeding. :(

How have you been treating? It could be that he has a slightly deficient immune system if you have been treating him orally. If you have been treating him only on the infected spot; then secondary infections are much more likely.

That is the thing... I was not the one treating him. The vet felt that it would be best if he was left in the clinic for constant monitoring since he is young and it was spreading. I have no clue what they used (probably a sure indicator that’s i should not go back there) but they treated him for 14 days. I made sure to SCRUB EVERYTHING down. I bought them new everything. I even bought a new table for the cage to sit in so spores could not jump.

My parents think that treating him at home would be a good option. I refused to buy over the counter products because I have read about them. Do you think it would be okay to wash in in Dandruff shampoo once a week for three weeks and apply anti-fungal cream twice a day?
 
Hi,I would get in touch with the vet. Request his vet notes and inform them he has it again and discuss options. Possibility is he wasn't clear before he was sent back to you and stress brought it out. I find it strange they would want to keep him in as ringworm in hospital/shelter environment is high risk.
What did you use to clean the cage?

I used bleach on it twice a couple hours apart and then I scrubbed it down with hot water and dawn dish soap twice everyday for two weeks cause that is how long they had him
