Ringworm Alert - Help

Hi, our piggy 1 - Koko - had ringworm, we treated it with Canisten, fine, it went away and healed up. Then we gave the piggies to friends for our holidays. On holiday whilst abroad, my husband and I both got ringworm. My husband's has cleared up, mine hasn't, I have got a widening big ring - itchy and yucky. When we came back, we also found that the the two cats of our friends had got ringworm and one of the children, how embarrassing, (must be related, no?) How to halt the infection...? I can't clear mine up either and the pharmacist and doctor were not much use. Any tips also on how to prevent reinfection? Our son and second piggy Lola never got it.
Any suggestions much appreciated

A good scrub of the hutch, toys etc with Milton I found worked well! Its antifungal and antibacterial so it's great Keep using the Fungal cream for a while after symptoms have cleared, too - at least that's what they told us to do

Same advice as Merrypigs, any good antibacterial /fungal wash will do, such as Milton
I use F 10 , Sanertizin fluid but any good human baby preparation shold do

Thanks guys for your replies. Will get the anti-infectant fluids and get cracking. What about my infection? Anything else I could try apart from Canisten?

I was given Clotrimazole when I had a random patch on my knee (weird :'D)

Hi,

I know you've probably realised that ringworm is highly contagious so all precautions should be taken, from using gloves & aprons when cleaning out and handling your piggies, boil washing any soft bedding they have i.e. fleece and disposing of any wooden items they have. I also ensured the area was well ventilated.
