Hi my 10 week old guinnea pigs Both have ring worm they have been prescribed antibiotic eye drops(as there are ring worm sores around there eyes irritating them) a cream to put on the large patches and a oral antibiotic but I have a few questions on ringworm I forgot to ask whilst at the vets.
- can guinnea pigs get ringworm more then once in their life
- do I have to dispose of their toys and bottle etc when they're better
- will the carpet in their room need cleaning as they run round on it

Hi!

Guinea pigs can get ringworm repeatedly; ringworm spores stay active for up to 18 months.
I would recommend to change the bottles, but if you can dunk any hard toys in F10 solution and let them dry, they should be fine.

Could you please list the names of the products? that is not classic ringworm treatment.

Here are our tips on how to deal best with ringworm and what you can do to prevent a return. if your boys have come down with ringworm within two weeks of being bought from a pet shop, you can claim the vet cost back.

We were given another course of fucithalmic for both guinea pigs as this had previously been prescribed for Elvis when he had a sore eye. However something worried me about the packet it says 2 tablet twice a day but these are drops not tablets.
More surolsn this was prescribed for Percy when he first had sores we've been told to use on both guinea pigs
And 0.15mls orally per day for each guinea pig of itrafungol
