I purchased two guinea pigs about a week ago. A few days ago I noticed one had a bald patch of hair on its nose. Thinking it just got pulled out I observed the two to make sure they weren’t fighting. I only saw he was scratching a lot. So I took him back to the pet store today so he could be seen by a vet and they said it was probably ringworm. So my question is, how likely is it the other one also has it? I haven’t noticed any scratching or missing hair from the other. Also, my daughter has handled the guinea pig almost daily.

Ringworm is highly infectious. The incubation period between infection and acute outbreak is 10-14 days. If you treat during that time, you can usually prevent an acute outbreak but once you have a spot, it has to run its due course.
Please take the time to carefully read our ringworm hygiene guide. You will find that it answers pretty much all your questions; we have made it as detailed, practical and precise as we could. If necessary see a pharmacist about using nizoral shampoo for a whole body wash in children or other suitable measures to prevent a ringworm outbreak in children if necessary.

All the best! Please do not skint on getting a good disinfectant like F10 (normal disinfectants are only bacterial) and on the hygiene measures, which cover nearly all possible angles of transmission and while a nuisance to follow, are in fact pretty effective after a decade of finding things out the hard way.
Ringworm spores can be otherwise a real pain to get rid of (as pet shops are proving because we see a rising number of it in newly bought guinea pigs).
