last time I posted was last year and I mentioned my 6 year old sow Betty had breathing problems amongst other confusing symptoms, well after a long battle with numerous health issues I had to have her put to sleep at the start of this year. She was a real battler and a great character and my respect for her bravery is emmense. Thank you all for your comments , advice and concern it was much appreciated!

I am so sorry you lost your precious girl Betty, but what a beautiful tribute.
She sounds like a real character who was lucky to have such a caring and devoted owner.

So sorry that you had to help Betty to the Bridge. Tough decision but it shows how much you loved her. Popcorn free beautiful Betty xx

I am really sorry for the loss of your piggy. PTS is sometimes the last act of love we can do for our much loved little one. Massive hugs to you x

Sleep well little one

All your comments have been so touching , losing a pet is losing a member of your family and a best friend rolled in to one. Betty was the pig l had the longest and was a real character , my cat, Marcus definitely misses her , even though he's 8 yrs old and absolutely massive ,he always saw Bets' as his security blanket( he's a bit of a big baby!) Atleast I have 5 other pigs for him to snuggle with.

I am very sorry for your loss. You did your best for Betty, and you let her go when it was her time. She couldn't have had a better piggy mummy!

Pts is always a heart-breaking decision, but it is often the last, and in some ways most important, loving gift we can make.

You are welcome to post a tribute (with pictures) to Betty in our Rainbow Bridge section if you wish to. It is there for all members who want to commemorate a beloved piggy and share what it has meant to them with people who understand.
