RIP brave little bear

i have not been on hear for a while as been very busy with our hamster babies and have been nursing a sick rat
he had a large abcess on his jawline which got bigger even with baytrill but started getting better bt the skin then dies and fell off leaving a hole he was on pain relief, he also had a small abcess come up on other side but this healed quickly, the hole got smaller and looked to be getting better but when the vet checked him tues while he was asleep they noticed that it was cancer forming inside his mouth and that was causing the abcess, he was still eating and drinking and running about as normal so i thought he wold get better, they put him to sleep while he was under so it wouldnt stress him with waking him etc, he was on his own for a while after falling out with his brother then i failed to introduce him with my other boy group but for the last few weeks i managed to put the smallest rat from my boy group in with him so he could gain some weight and they got on well and slept together in the hammock, i think he muct have calmed down since being ill and it was nice that he had a friend before he went, he is at the front in the photo

aw sorry to hear your sad news.

rats are fab pets, and so often overlooked :( My sister used to keep them and they were just amazing little creatures.

RIP Bear run free at the bridge, enjoy nibbling on berries and bananas and enjoy burying yourself in big piles of newspaper, you'll be so very very sadly missed by your mummy, brother and friends but NEVER EVER forgotten xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

yes glynis the vet did do the best thing at least he went in his sleep :(
