Junior Guinea Pig
I've been posting about Charlie over the last few months, first he was struggling to eat, then onto soft mashed foods only and then onto oats and weetabix only. I asked a different vet how much an xray would cost and she told me it was £20! My last vet didn't say this, which is why I didn't take him earlier, so I feel a bit guilty because of that. I couldn't deny him £20, so I booked an appointment, but he didn't come back from it. The vet said he thought the teeth have formed a bridge, and there was a sharp tooth hurting his mouth which is why he was struggling to eat. He said that we could put him under anesthetic and file them, but he was very underweight and old so he might not of survived anyway. He said the other option was to put him to sleep. If he had been a little more healthy, I would of tried the first option, but he weighed only 700 grams and was skin and bone, so I put him to sleep.
He also had a strange humped look, which I only guess was because he was weak and skinny.
He is buried in the garden with my other boys.
RIP Charlie, sorry I didn't see it sooner. Hope you were comfy in your last days. x
