New member today, sad to say a rainbow bridge incident brought me here. An hour ago after a crash and burn effort at sick Guinea pigs, I lost my dear girl Daisy to what I think was bloat. I feel to blame and held her while she passed. I think she aspirated while I was trying to hydrate and feed her till morning. To little knowledge too late. She hadn't eaten in over a day and was crash course at 4 am trying to feed her till morning. I only had hr a short time . I will miss her and hold guilt for a long time. She was quite generous with her kisses. RIP Daisy. Mommy sorry.

@Christine Buck please don't blame yourself. You tried to save her with the knowledge you had at the time, and that is the best that any one of us can do. Bloat takes hold very quickly and sometimes no amount of nursing can bring them back to health. Please don't hold that guilt, you did what you could.
Be free at the Bridge sweet little Daisy xx

As Daisy deserves a thread of her own I will ask a moderator to move these posts to her own section, and if it helps you to put up a photo of her in there please do so. Huge hugs to you, and please forgive yourself, as I say, you did everything you could with the knowledge you had. xx
