Mudpuppy
Junior Guinea Pig
Hey all,
I am devastated
some of you may remember me seeking advice on my poor rescue piggy Fraggle who had bladder and bowel issues following poor diet at his previous home.
Unfortunately, Fraggle's problems returned over the last couple of weeks, culminating with a bad calcium build up that meant we had to visit the emergency vet on Saturday night. He got a catheter to remove the build up but there was still an unknown blockage which made it difficult for them to flush water through his bladder. During the week, he was back and forth to the vets as he was getting more and more poorly... he was given painkillers, antibiotics and fluids and I tried to syringe feed him. An x ray showed that all the calcium had been removed and no stones visible. However, by Thursday, he had to go to hospital and when I went to collect him after work, the vet told me he was very very ill as he had stopped swallowing
He was due to go back to hospital today, but an hour after I took him home, he passed away in my arms whilst receiving cuddles and kisses
I only had him for 5 months but I was consumed by love for him - my baby Fraggle Waggle had been through so much in his short life, but at least he's not in pain anymore
Last night was hard - going to bed with no Fraggle to say 'love you night night' to, and equally, this morning, no Fraggle to say 'morning baby' to
I miss him so much already - his little rainbow bridges look so sad and dull without him
