i lost my poor 20 month boy George Sunday. He became poorly Saturday. He stopped eating/drinking pooping. I tried to syringe feed him and made appointment first thing with the vets Sunday but he didn’t make it.

He leaves behind his cage mate Harry. I’m having him cremated and his ashes returned.

He was the sweetest little fella. George is on the left x

I am very sorry for your loss! George was a lovley boy, and you and Harry must miss him very much!

Sadly, piggies can go downhill very quickly. it is always a lot more difficult when it happens on a Sunday, but it is very likely that a vet would not have been able to save him.

RIP George - be a good furry little guardian angel for your best mate!

I take comfort In the fact Harry seems to be doing really well. I know it’s earky days but so far his okay xx

It is always such a relief when a piggy is not acutely pining, which means that you have time to do your research and find the best solution for him, and it is not quite such a rush.
I have usually found that searching for a place with datable piggies has helped me with my grieving, as I could do something constructive to counter the tough phase when having to rearrange my daily routine and all those unthinking little connections is bringing the loss home so jarringly. It is often the little things that are hardest to deal with.

I am so sorry for the loss of your beautiful little lad. He was gorgeous, you did all you could, their illness come on so fast, often there is nothing we can do. He had a great life with you, try and remember that

Sleep well little one

RIP George

They take ashes back to vets for me to collect. Harry seems to be doing really well. All being well he will be meeting a potential new friend next week :)

I'm sorry that you lost George so suddenly. Hope having his ashes at home gives you some solace and as @David Pet Lover said it means you can chat to him.
Not a strange idea as it brings some healing knowing that he is close to you. xx

So sorry for the sad loss of George. He looked just like my Bertie who was called to the Rainbow Bridge in the summer. He is in my garden and I speak to him every time I walk by him. I does help me as I miss him. Give Harry extra hugs.
RIP George
