My beautiful Jake died during the night from a bad case of bloat!
Jake was prone to Impaction and 99% of the time once it was out he was fine, but not this time! He had a unusually large poo plug than normal and I noticed straight away that it was bloat.

Dispite my best efforts (and a trip to the vets) sadly the bloat just would not burge. I was with him from first finding out to before he died massaging his tummy and trying my hardest to shift the bloat but it wouldn't budge :(

Jake was a lovely guinea pig, he was never aggressive to others, loved his food and loved cuddles.

I have lost a great member of my gang today and the last of my previous generation of piggies.

Its hard to think that I won't see him again but I am glad that he is no longer suffering and he can see his brother Hector once again.

I showed his body to Lentil this morning so he could say his goodbye, Lentil decided he wanted to rumble at him instead rolleyes

Jake was 4 years 5 months, I very much loved pig who will be missed forever and never forgotten. I miss him so much 8...

Hannah, i am so sorry. I saw the title and my heart sank, I was so hoping it wasn't your boy.
You did everything you could have done for him and you were there with him - he would have taken great comfort knowing his mum was there with him.

Really sorry for you loss, he was such a beautiful special piggie and will be missed on and off the forum. Massive hugs to you.

Oh how sad. I am so sorry. The photo of you two together is so special. You can clearly see your special bond.
 
I am so sorry that poor Jake hasn't made it; bloat is such a nasty thing to come down with!

Aww Hannan I am really sad to see this...I read your thread about him having bloat and was willing him to get better :(
