My Siammese fighting fish has just died :'(

My stupid step dad being the idiot of listening to pets at home decided it would be a good idea to get a "friend" for my fighter while ive been at work.

They both faught which resulted in the "friend" getting torn to shreds and died and my fighter getting seriously injured.

Today he was swimming around awkwardly and just doping around so I managed to.
I have been monitoring since I have gotten home from work but had to come to euthanise him.
During his last moments he did seem to calm down alot to his usual docile self then just drifted away 8...

I feel better now he is no longer in any suffering.

i can't believe anyone selling fish don't know that you never put these together. i actually never listen to the staff in any aquarium shop - i do my own research first as they rarely know what they are talking about. so sorry you lost your beautiful fighter:(
 
Oh that is awful. What idiots to say something like that without knowing the facts. I am really sorry. :(
 
R.I.P But you can't blame your step-dad, most people aren't aware of how badly informed P@H staff are! People assume that a Pet Shop worker will know about pets which they should!
 
He decided it was cruel for him to be on his own. Yet where I got him from said its best for him to be on his own. Yet my stepdad believes anything pets at home or other chain stores will say. I did tell him that he must be on his own as he will fight with other fish but still went off in his way

I had him in his own tank on my desk now it just looks empty there :(

Oh my that's horrible!
I used to have 2 male betta's they were beautiful, I had them in a 15 gallon with a divider.
I had named the Alpha and Omega.
When I first got everything up and running apparently the divider wasn't high even and Alpha jumped over and attack Omega, thank god I got there in time, Omega wasn't moving much but I pulled the apart and put Alpha in a bowl until Omega calmed down and I fixed the divider. To this day Omega still has marks from it ):
