Last week was really devastating for me because just 5 days after losing Morwenna I needed to make the decision to pts Miaren 'Bramble' (nickname Mimi) as another emergency. She she suddenly deteroriated very quickly and would have never made it through the weekend until her booked appointment on Monday.

My local vets kindly squeezed her in on Friday evening. Sadly, on top of her existing issues and exacerbating them massively, she was found to have badly cystic kidneys, which were in the process of closing down.
The stress of bonding her with Melangell and Brathlys may have speeded up things a little but by the looks of it, not by much - Miaren didn't look or act unwell when I decided to bond.

Mimi is joining both her litter sisters Meleri (Millie) and Meryn (stayed with her mum at the pet shop pregnancy owner's) at the Rainbow Bridge, as well as her previous group members Gareth and Teggy. She was just 4 1/2 years old but I had known of her from the day she was born; the same as Morwenna.

At least I have been able to give Mimi the happy and fulfilled life of her own choice even if she was not a people piggy and hated handling. After she managed to sneak into newly neutered (but by then safe) Llelo's cage through a loose grid, liked the real estate and the rather puzzled but submissive young boy that came with it, she took her big chance with both paws and never left. She'd been on my list of possible dates for Llelo, if not at the top. Miaren made very sure that Llelo knew who was in charge!
In her case, it was definitely a 'family looks' match of hearts, as both sported a white and a brown side.

Although in recent years, Llelo - now in the prime of his own life and a quiet but confident boar himself - has taken over the leadership.

Tiny Millie and Mimi were a true handful and then some when they arrived here in December 2017 as 5 weeks old babies; so much so that they quite literally scared poor Beryn stiff. It was a bit of an initial juggle to find where they fitted in best but they found a good long term place with dominant Teggy, who could cope with them, and gentle Gareth who did what he was told by his ladies anyway...

At least Llelo, while clearly missing his love and grieving for her, does have the comfort and consolation from his two new wives; it has spared me having to scramble to find him new company. I just wish they had much more time as a quartet with Mimi!

Miaren's bouquet reflects her determined personality in her smallish body; the strongly scented dog rose is for her love affair with Llelo, in combination with lavender, musk mallow and penstemon.
