Julesie
Senior Guinea Pig
Mumen sadly went to sleep last night. After five days of an unknown problem relating to him unable to move his body much at all I made the hard decision to put him to sleep.
I'm utterly heartbroken. I wanted to do my best for him and help him through it to get better but once he stopped eating I knew that this was enough for him.
I got him last year at the blue cross animal rescue where he had been there after being taken away from a farm. The farm had all its animals removed for abuse and taken away. It was then shut down. From there he was put on the blue cross at three months old and not a single person went to see him. He was completely ignored and overlooked. When I went to see him the staff were so excited, Is this someone for the guinea pig?! They told me they were so happy to see someone showing interest. By this time he was six months old. Myself and the girls (sakurai and eevee) loved him immediately.
I adopted him on 15th August 2017 and he was such a skittish boy but quickly tamed up. It took him a little while longer to get used to being pet. Once he realised it wasn't scary he'd let you hold him, stroke him and was very content with attention from Mummy. He loved his girls even if it wasn't always returned.
He was a super photogenic piggy and was amazing at posing for pictures. I loved him to bits. He was such a sweet boy.
I really miss him and the girls do too. I found them curled up cuddling today whereas they never had before.
RIP Mumen. You were taken from me far too young. I hope you are back with Sakurai and happily popcorning together over the rainbow bridge.
Love you so much little man. Sleep well
Lots of love from Mummy, Eevee and Yugi xx
