Had to put down my little girl this afternoon. She was 5 years old and was suffering from a bad case of bloat and systemic infection.

It's very hard to think about her being gone. I wanted to stop by a forum where people would understand my pain. :(

I hope she's in a better place and not feeling any pain anymore.

My poor little girl. I love you, Mary Jane.

I am so very sorry. When a piggy develops bloat, you are sadly very much up against it; but it is still such a tough decision to make. It will take your heart some time to catch up with your head. :(

RIP Mary Jane

I'm sorry that you have joined the forum in this way, but you have come across a beautiful community who will all understand, sympathise and help you as best they can. Having to make that choice is something that we all pray we will never have to do, but it is a choice some of us will have to make and it will never be easy. Please don't feel guilty or blame yourself, and know that Mary-Jane won't blame you either.

Popcorn and run free over the Rainbow Bridge Mary-Jane, you will be very much missed by anyone who knew and loved you xx

In total agreement. Last month I had to put down one of my doggies who had cancer. It still breaks me up to think about it, but when I saw, at her last moment, the stress and tension and struggle in her body suddenly relax, I felt a sense of relief knowing she was relieved finally. So yes, it was probably the very kindest thing to do. I feel your pain and sorrow.
