My little girl Popcorn was my first pet. She was 8 weeks and I was 44 years old. I bought her from the Pet store that was before I knew anything about animal rescue. On the way home from the store she was in a box and I had her on my lap, then she peed on my lap. My husband then told me that was her way to tell me that she was the boss.

She had not had any medical issue prior to March this year. She was diagnosed with pneumonia and recovered from that. Last Friday she was diagnosed with pneumonia again. Not sure why the vet did not use the same medicine Ditrim. She was on Enrofloxacin.

She showed sign of recovering yesterday by drinking water on her own. But today she did not want to eat anything. I was having so much easier time to hand feed her. But this afternoon around 2 pm US central time she started moving around and just clapped, I called my husband so he could come home. My little girl popcorn waited until he was home. Then couple minutes later she was out. She was 5 years and 8 months old.

My sweet girl, now you are meeting up with your little sister Meimei and Coco over the rainbow bridge. It hurts so much.

RIP, my sweet heart! You will always have a very special place in my heart!

I am very sorry for your loss. Your first piggy is always extra special. Peach will always have her very own place in your heart, your thoughts and memories. She has lived to a good average age, though - scant consolation as that is!

Sadly, a recurring pneumonia is usually worse than the first one - and it can kill even with the best of meds and support care. it is very normal that you look for reasons why this could have happened and how it could have been prevented; feelings of failure, guilt and trying to make sense characterise the onset of the grieving process in anybody who is a loving and responsible owner. Peach couldn't have had a more loving home; and she knew it! :(

I am so sorry - I know how you feel - I lost my precious Bumble yesterday - big hugs to you xx

Sorry for your loss too, TAN~ Thanks. It is so good to have a place to share our feeling.
