RIP Sakurai my sweet little girl

On the 7th July 2018 my beautiful elderly piggie Sakurai passed away. I left her at around 11pm eating with her cage mates nomming on some dandelion dry forage -her favourite- and when I went to check on them an hour and a bit later she was sadly lying what looked to be fast asleep in the front of the cage. I was especially heart broken as she was my first female piggie and she held a big spot in my heart because of that.

I adopted her from a gumtree advert in Feb 2014 that was giving her away for free because I was worried where she would end up. Originally she had no idea what vegetables were and was terrified of everything. Within years she was the most tame, sweetest little girl and not even a bomb being dropped from the sky would make her react. She put up with her two younger cage mates but seemed to prefer her own company for the most part in the cage or mine when out.

I love and miss her a lot. I got her ashes back yesterday and I'm glad to have her back home. Her ashes are now sitting beside her old boarfriend, Ryou and I hope they are reunited back together. Thank you for the lovely memories.

I miss you so much baby girl. RIP. Lots of love from Mummy. x

I’m so sorry for your loss. She was a beautiful guinea pig. She looked like she had a wonderful life with you.

I am really sorry for the loss of your wonderful little lady. You gave her so much love and she gave it right back to you. Massive hugs to you, she had the most perfect life with you. x

You gave her such a lovely life and it will be hard for you as you grieve.
Take time to grieve and be gentle with yourself
 
We on this forum receive messages about everything and personally I struggle with some.
Especially piggies that have died and rainbow bridge situtation. I'm a guy that still to sort to write about my piggie and he died 15 months ago.
I'm so pls to read your beautiful story about your piggie Sakurai why pls because my dear you very special person . . . one that gave a piggie a fantastic life and so sad she's gone and the pain is so raw. . . but pls trust me in time you will be so proud to have had her.
The pain will be replaced with stories about her.
She died at home and with you around my goodness lots of us would like to be blessed with that. but your piggie said goodnight and off she's gone to the Rainbow World where she be with hundreds of lloved and never fogotten piggies. May I send you my sympthy from our herd and RIP Little piggie. Mummy missed you . . . Why cos you were loved so much. Dave

I know she's back with Ryou, Matthew, Romano, Bakura, Ludwig and Gilbert, probably telling the boys off if they are annoying her :))

So very sorry for your loss. She was a very well loved piggy and it sounds like she had a peaceful passing. Such a shock when they leave unexpectedly, though. Hugs. Popcorn free lovely Sakurai.

Thank you. She was showing signs of age - she seemed a little slower than she used to be and I had to often point out to her that the food was now in the bowl as she would just continue chewing the bars- but I know she was healthy and happy otherwise. It felt so sudden. I never expected to walk in and find her dead. I do believe she had taken a nap when it happened as she seemed comfortably resting at the time.
