RIP gorgeous Shirley Temple!

A year's sponsorship for Shirley at East Peckham Guinea Pig Rescue (EPGPR) in Southeast London/Kent was going to be a special Christmas present of mine, courtesy of @Sue G, who'd kindly agreed to my idea of exchanging rescue piggy sponsorships instead of fundraising gifts this year.
Sadly, Shirley was found collapsed this morning and passed away not long after. She was part of a group of 7/8 year old no longer wanted ex-breeder sows with health issues that have recently found a loving refuge as permanent residents at the rescue. Shirley was the one I really fell for, and if she had been younger, I would have likely tried to adopt her. I have been looking forward to bringing a little fairy godmother sparkle into her long, but joyless life.
My sincere sympathies are going to @Caviesgalore (EPGPR) , who has given Shirley the happiest - but sadly far too short - weeks of her life.
Please consider sponsorship as a Christmas present, either to receive or to give if you are still looking for inspiration - especially if you'd love to have more guinea pigs, but can't! Most rescues have permanent residents that are either too old or too fragile for rehoming. There is bound to be one that touches your heart and speaks to you with their looks or their story, whether it is a local rescue or a special piggy in another country!
Sponsorship is not expensive and you get regular updates from of your rescue piggy. You can't buy happiness, but you can certainly give a little bit as a present!
PS: Caviesgalore has chosen Shirley Temple's best friend Ginger Rogers, who sat with her during her last hours, to be my sponsorship piggy instead.
