RIP Swivels

Swivels passed away today, 1 of a little herd of 5. She was the middle piggie. We had just dropped them off at my parents to board while we're on vacation. I had their own C&C cage, huts, and bedding to lessen stress. She showed no signs of illness, but was our least social pig but when she allowed you to pick her up would love to cuddle. It's been tough, after a scare with one of the other girls , Peanut, a few months back. It's tough not having been there for her in the final moments. We'll take her by the vet in the morning to get her cremated and see if they can see what happened.

Sadly it happens and guinea pigs do hide illness well because they are prey animal.
Swivels looked a real beauty.
Look after yourself and take time to grieve.

so sorry about swivel. it’s so hard when piggies pass but we have to remember animals always know when to go. your cage looks lovely so she had a good life. i will attach a screenshot message that is meant for horses but really helped me when my little one passed. sleep tight little pig x
