I've decided I'd like to post a little memorial for my baby Theo. I want to be able to share how amazing and caring he was, it's only what he deserves.
Theo came into my life on June 15th 2008, along with his brother Maxi. But straight from the start I knew something was special about him, we where always very close. You could definitely say Theo was a mummy's boy, he was only truly comfortable in my arms, he would only let me brush his hair and when he was in his run as soon as he saw me he would come up for a chin rub. We where best friends. He helped me threw so much, moving house, moving school, primary to secondary, two cases of bulling and much more.
When Maxi died, Theo had the same illness just the earlier stages and while he had to have medicine everyday he managed to help me with my grief.
After Maxi died we had about 9 happy months together, cherishing every moment. In January Theo took ill, and we knew what was coming. We brought him inside to keep him comfortable and for the rest of the day he went in and out of conscious. All of us said our goodbyes before bed expecting him to leave during the night. I remember hearing him cry during my sleep and I gave him his bottle like a baby, three times in all. I managed to save his life.
We knew after that scare, our days where precious, so we ordered a indoor cage, which could be split into two for both Oscar and Theo.
On the 22nd February 2013, I woke up to my mum telling me Theo was ill. He had been drooling a lot. I though he might have had just a sore tooth, but it was worse.
The vet took Theo's temperature and he was so cold their was no reading. He was very skinny after the last scare and he was quickly rushed away to be put under a heat lamp, with any improvements being surgery for his teeth. At around 11 o'clock we received a call saying Theo had died in his sleep peacefully while being warmed up.
We still aren't entirely sure of what caused his death, and the vet was heartbroken as she fell in love with Theo just like everyone else did.
6 months later everyone still misses Theo. He was a character that can never be replaced, from family, to friends and to neighbours he stole everyone's hearts.
I know I'll never stop missing him, but I'm glad he's at a place where nothing can hurt him anymore.
