We are all bewildered and grieving for our little man Walter, who went into sudden acute shock today and was put to sleep by the vet a little under 1 hour after we found him poorly.

He was unresponsive, labouring to breath and very little neurological reaction. Vet felt he was critical; his body was shutting down and he was struggling with his last breaths.

Now he is resting, and I hope there will be plenty of green pepper and parsley for him over he bridge.

Love you Walter xx

My deepest sympathies. The only consolation is that you did the right thing and got him to the vets quickly.

RIP Walter

Oh gosh! What a horrible shock and thing for you to have to go through. I am so sorry for your loss. RIP Walter x

I'm really sorry for your sad loss & my thoughts are with you. R.I.P. Walter. xx

Thanks everyone, for your kind words. Much appreciated.

We're still in shock and keeping an extra close eye on his sister Hildy. It came out of nowhere and he became so poorly so quickly. Poor little man. I hope he is popcorning up there.

An awful shock :( I am so sorry, to lose him so sudden like that is heartbreaking. Huge hugs and love to you and little Hildy

Sleep well little boy

RIP Walter

We had a beautiful chirping dawn chorus in the morning, it's nice to imagine that he was saying a goodbye song before he left. It's so difficult to make sense of it all but I know he didn't suffer for long.

I'm so sorry, night night little Walter.

I wonder if the chirping was a sign, my Maddie did it a couple of days before Jess died.
