following on from Snowy and Chip falling out, and my dilemma about having so many single boars, i decided to leave snowy single and concentrate on Chip. After trying him with little gold a few times, he ended up with yet more little nips, so, i have decided to risk a threesome with Freddie and little fred, as they have already met a few times over the past few years at floor time.
Over the last few days i have introduced them, and today they spent the whole afternoon together on the sofa, so i decided to go for it, and extend the freddies' cage so they have a 3x4 c&c and disinfect it all and then put them in together, with 3 bowls, water, houses, etc.
So far, so good.... although i can't sleep for listening out for any trouble :...
I really hope this works -c
Wish us luck!

Oooooo............. I really hope it works!

Chip deserves some friends... failing that you should get them all neutered and everyone a wife each :))! Kidding ;).

It sounds good so far, we have everything crossed here for you! :) xx

lol! i'd love to get them all wives! shame they're too old.... plus, i've already had to get rid of one of the sofa's in my lounge to fit c&c's in, don't think OH would be too pleased if we didn't have any sofa's at all! :(|):(|)

You can share Fred's sofa it fits nicely,

Fred said its ok and this way you and other half can sit in the cage... :)). Infact you should just let them all free range rolleyes :)).

aww, bless, thankyou Fred x)

lol, well, i quite often sit in the boys cages with them, not sure about Luke being too happy with that, he already has to dodge the poop on the remaining sofa :(|) :(|)

:(|):(|), whats a little more poop to dodge ;).

No but Really on a serious note I really do hope the boys stay friends!

Fingers crossed. I've been through it myself with two boars, one age 3 and one aged 2 so not your usual adult with a baby. It was ok to start with then they got fed up with each other about 8 hours later so had to seperate them again but we tried again and it worked. The big difference was we put them both in the bath together before I really do think this made a difference, might be worth a try if they do start to fall out. Fingers crossed for a happy trio. (and a good night's sleep!)

they seem to be absolutely fine today, i actually can't believe it is going so well, especially as they are all adults, the Freddies are 4 and 3 and chip is 2ish. there has been no chattering at all, a few bum bashings, and a few rumbles, but nothing serious. looks good :<> -c

hmmm, well, my threesome has failed, i thought it was going so well, it lasted a few weeks, but freddie and chip fell out, and freddie has a big gash on his nose, mallethead mallethead
I think i will have to resign myself to the fact that poor Chip will have to live alone, he doesn't get on with anyone, and as much as i would love to get him a baby, i can't risk another falling out as i am fast running out of room. He can see and talk to the others though, so he is not alone, so now i am down to 2 pairs of boars and 6 singles :(

You could get them neutered or alternatively a spayed sow. Shame it didn't last, boys are nightmares!

I do think he also would be fine as he is, if he can interact with them though the bars.

yeah, i would love to get them neutered, but they're too old, all 2,3 and 4,i wouldn't want to risk an op.
They'll be fine, they can all see each other and interact and have lots of cuddles. drool

Aww sorry to hear it's not worked out.

I only know two people who have had boars in more than a pair successfully. One was an elderly boars with two young boars. The other was a lady I know from uni who had 'free' range piggies in an enclosed garden, with 4 hutches that they could go into, she surprisingly have little fighting but they had a huge space, she had up to 12 boars together :O She has got a degree in zooology and used to work as a zoo keeper so I suppose sheknew what to look for :)

I am so sorry for you that it hasn't worked out!
