Well, here is what I was talking about. His hair loss is getting worse, and today we gave him a good bath on the back half and sprayed some Ultra Care flea and tick spray that was recommended by a Guinea Pig rescue person I ran into at Petco. I can not express enough what a relief it is to FINALLY meet someone in person who can advise me on this little guy....

Sorry about the blurry pic, but I think something is wrong with the camera.

Sorry to disalusion you but piggies cannot get fleas, and they should never be sprayed with any kind of repellant from a petshop. They contain chemicals which could be toxic to a piggy if it ingests them.

From the pic,it looks like a mite problem. The best treatments can be bought from GORGEOUS GUINIES. They havemelts, lotions and shampoos that really work, and they do not contain any chemicals.

If you email Chrissie and send her the pic she will advise you the best products.

I didn't mean to imply I thought the spray was a replacement for the shampoo; I know it's not. The rescue person said it would help a bit until I could pick some up, so I tried it. Thanks for the info, I will definitely check it out...
