I think Rocky may have problems with malocclusion.

She has been getting thinner recently, and today weighed 700g.

Up until the last couple of days she has been eating well though. However today we noticed that nothing was going in. Also, Rocky had diarrhoea. I started syringe feeding tonight, and I am going to try to get a vet appointment tomorrow.

OH darling i'm so sorry to hear about Rocky :(:(:(
MEGA healing wheeeeeeeeks and loves from us all xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>xx>>>

Thanks guys.

Grass went down well yesterday. Rocky is good with the syringe and likes to feed that way. It's only very recently come on, so hoping I can fix it in time.

Good luck at the vets. Diarrhea does often tie in with dental issues. Here's hoping she is quickly fixed.

Yes, it's malocclusion. This is what killed my precious Dr three years ago.

Rocky is having the teeth done tomorrow. Healing vibes appreciated....

Good luck to you and Rocky today, Lucinda. What exactly is she having done? Did the vet specify the type of malocclusion (since the term is a general one for dental problems)?

Rocky will be ready to come home at 3.45...

Emmie said it was a spur growing into the cheek, but it was Gina the other vet who actually did today's list. I will find out more when I collect Rocky.

Thanks for all the support!

I am pleased that you have got it sorted :) I will be thinking of you at 3.45 as I am picking Connie up at 4. Sounds like we have both had a stressful day. Love and hugs to you all xx

Rocky is doing well with syringe food and tiny pieces of banana. I just wish I could get something more solid in.

Poor Rocky :( did they say if she would have to go back for more dentals? hopefully they managed to do it without GA or just a whiff of gas at least! If her mouth is sore because of the spur, neem toothpaste from a health food shop can be very beneficial rubbed around the inside of the mouth and tongue with a cotton bud :)

Love to you and her x

Rocky is making good progress! Has managed tiny bits of strawberry, cucumber and banana. Also broken up cereal.

That's good that she is managing some food, thugh the sooner she gets onto hard food the better - it doesn't take long for those troublesome teeth to overgrow again, which means back to square one! I've found Daktarin Oral Gel is very good for soothing the mouth after dental work, especially when spurs and overgrown molars have been concerned. Every time Tuppy had her molars trimmed, she would not eat afterwards; it was Daktarin that helped her get back onto food as it soothed the sore bits the teeth had caused. May be worth considering?

Already using Daktarin!

And Rocky has made tremendous progress in the last 24 hours. Eating lots and chewing carrot chunks. Wish we could get more cereal in though. But I am so proud.

Just caught up with the thread - give Rocky a hug from me.

Be good for mummy Rocky and get munching :)
