My favourite piggie passed away today whilst having an operation to remove some cancerous lumps from his tummy :( . I know I shouldn't have a favourite but I did.

Rocky - you were a nippy little devil, always first for the food and amazingly cuddly when you wanted to be.
You were so small and sick when I got you home

But with a bit of TLC you pulled through and grew to be the most handsome piggie who found his way into my heart and will be there forever.

I could hardly speak when the vet phoned to give me the worst news - that your heart stopped and despite everything they couldn't save you - I haven't stopped crying yet and am dreading having to tell the children you have gone. It is so unfair because you were so young.

I had to bring you home, darling and bury you in the garden you hadn't had the chance to graze in yet this year but I know how much you loved being out in the fresh air.
You look a little grumpy in this but then you frequently did!

So sorry to hear that. So unfair that he went at a young age.

Remember you did everything you could for him and loved him very much.

Rocky was a gorgeous boy!

I am so sorry; I lost my neutered boar only at the beginning of the month due to a tumor in his belly. Because it was already quite advanced and he was unlikely to survive an operation (which couldn't give any guaratnee that the cancer wouldn;t come back), we decided to let him live out his life - which was totally heartbreaking when he started fading in front of my eyes, and there was nothing I could do! There are no easy and clear cut decisions with a diagnosis like that - all you can do is try your best; which you certainly did!

what a gorgeous boy, so sorry you lost him, only good thing is he wouldnt have been aware of it at all. Run free at the bridge with your old chums, rip Rocky x

Hope you and your kids are ok, its tough to deal with when you lose them, but just remember he must have felt so loved with you x

I'm so sorry, just find comfort n that, he certianly knew what love was whilst he was with you and that you did you very best for him, he knows that.

He was a gorgeous boy, such a lovely colour. R.I.P Rocky xx

Thank you for all your comments. Almost a week on and I still can't believe he is gone. :(

Glynis - he sure did have pigatude! We have lost such a big pigsonality in Rocky :(:(
 
What a shock to have Rocky taken so quickly. What a difference there is from the first picture to seeing him healthy. Some piggies just make an extra impact on your heart and its devestating when they pass. My two girls will take care of Rocky at rainbow bridge. Popcorn free beautiful rocky..
