How's Rocky doing today, Lucinda? Still sending bucketloads of love to her.

Lots of hugs and love to the two of you!

A better day today. Rocky eating a lot - and without me having to prompt. Leaves going in at the usual speed. If only we could get some weigh on. Current weight is just over 500g.

Thank you all for your concern.

Well, it's good that she's eating like this, and hopefully if she continues to do so there'll be automatic weight gain .... paws crossed.

It's been quite a good day. Since Emmie opened the abscess Rocky's appetite has whizzed back. We now suspect that the abscess was building for some time, it caused Rocky to stop eating, leading to teeth overgrowth, and weight loss. It is a massive abscess and very hard. I flush out at home and get out what I can. We are seeing Emmie again tomorrow.

Thanks for all the kind comments.

Good luck tomorrow (or should I say later today!), and will await an update. Still sending her good vibes. And you too, of course.

Thinking of you and Rocky.

All the best! and keep going!

Vicky

It's amazing.

Rocky has gained 50g over the weekend. Also Emmie said there was now very little pus left in the abscess. Suddenly, things are looking a whole lot better!

We go back on Thursday for a review.

I can't imagine how relieved you must be feeling. That is great... no ... fantastic news. Please let this be the start of an upward turn.

It is so very draining looking after a sick animal... you must be exhausted. But at least all your hard work, love and care seem to be paying off.

Here's hoping that Rocky continues to make progress.

Fantastic news. I've also been following but not posted before now. I'm so glad things are looking up, keeping fingers crossed that she continues to make a good recovery. xx

What a miracle girl!

Fingers still firmly crossed, though!

Terrific news, Lucinda - so pleased about Rocky, but also she's evidently had some excellent nursing from you.

Not so good today.

Smell of sepsis is back and very strong. Rocky was upset when I was flushing the abscess, and has not eaten much overnighht/ this morning.

We are going back to Emmie tomorrow and I think we may also go to the Saturday clinic. If Rocky could get some more weight on, I might suggest exploratory surgery.

Hope your piggie gets better soon...healing vibes to you especially after all your help and kind words over Bruce.

Thank you all.

Maybe a little better tonight. When I got in this evening Rocky was bouncing, and has eaten some dinner. We see Emmie at 9.50 tomorrow. I have also booked a Saturday appt, because it will be too long to wait over the Bank Holiday.

How did Rocky get on with Emmie today? Sounds like she (R) was feeling a little better last night, so I hope this is continuing.

Still keeping my fingers crossed for Rocky!

Rocky has put on a further 30g! So 80g in under a week.

Not much pus left in the abscess. I think it's just going to be a long haul, as abscesses always are...

Good on Rocky!

I lost one of my guinea pigs when it got its abscess operated, but the infection came back further in the body. Didn't know then that it would be better lanced and drained. I so wish Rocky to make it!
