No, not a dental problem. It is not that urgent anymore anyway, I was just a bit panicky - if you remember when I got a piggy from the RSPCA in May it had very orangy coloured urine? We had our vet check the urine, with no result, anyway over the next months the colour did get weaker and ultimately vanished, when recently Trillian started again - only this time proper blood stains, not discoloured urine. Vet checked her out again and could not feel any stones etc, Trillian also did not show any discomfort when passing urine or blood (we watched her do it), so we are guessing Ovarian Cysts or something similar. As I felt not very confident when Vedra told me how to feel Trillians abdomen for hard lumps etc I thought it would be better to have someone more experienced have a look. If it is cysts we will have to go down to Vedra anyway, to get them drained and a HCG shot, but I would like a rodentologist to have a look to see if it might be something else as it is a rather long drive down to Cambridgeshire from us! (3 hours +)
I am sorry if you feel like I stepped on "your" toes (more like, your professions') but I do have very very little confidence in vets after different vets caused several of my animals to die because they did not have a clue what they were doing. And reading on forums (both in this country and abroad) about experiences of other piggy owners and vets certainly doesn't help. Rodentologists all the way for me - I ususally write down instructions from Vedra now before going to the vets, and if the Vet does not agree with it then I go to a different Vet, as I believe Rodentologists a whole lot more than Vets! I mean come on, most of them still knock a piggy out for simply checking teeth or X-raying... @)
