Wow twice a day! Ok I feel better I was starting to panic I was over drugging him. He really has been quite uncomfortable I think he needs a relatively high dose just now. I will split it half tomorrow then.

Should I still continue with potters? I don't know how I will get that in too he's going to hate me!

i don't think people like posting doses incase it starts the debate :)) but i've had them on different doses for different things. i think because it is debated, it's best to find a vet who is experienced, and who you trust, and then go with what they say. our vet is excellent and has always been very involved in upto date research. but there are also vets mentioned on here who i know are also highly experienced, and who go with lower doses. so it's who you feel comfortable with and what you think your pet needs.

i don't know anything about potters so can't advise there. x

It's just terrible I even have to come on here to ask, I just want my little man to be comfortable without me doing more damage to him. Thank you for the advice!

I know what you mean. its hard work having to travel so far isnt it...takes so much time. As u say you can make a few calls and ask around. :) Good luck anyway. Lots of great advice given and a lot of different views, but all valid :) x

i agree. you shouldn't have to be worrying about all this. you should just beable to focus on getting him well and comfortable. i hope he will feel more comfortable soon x

Thank you guys, you are all fab. I trust you all more than any vet!

He is eating, and he is cheeky and if I can keep him this way I am happy. He is so special. I'm so upset this has suddenly happened to him ;(

I will keep updating this so you know how we get on! x

Urgh I have shed some amount of tears I tell you. I can't bare to see him struggle to walk. He is walking well tonight tho.

Not sure if this pic will work, haven't uploaded one in ages cos photobucket was a pain! But if it works here he is yesterday morning enjoying a Sunday lie in watching tv in bed with his mummy

Awwww he is soooooooo cute <3

Great news! I would try reducing the dose daily until you get to about 0.1 twice a day, then if that isn't enough try 0.2 twice a day. There are other types of pain relief you could try from the vet, like Tramodol :)

Oh really no other drugs have been mentioned to me! I will reduce it down a bit each day see how he goes. Nothing makes me happier than to see his cheeky little face pop out & have him potter about eating while I'm getting ready for work. I left with a big smile on my face today. He was walking great this morning ;)

The change in this boy is incredible. This morning, he RAN from his hay across the cage to me when I came up with breakfast veg. Actually ran.

Amazing.

Taken him to 0.4ml this morning, currently eating celery :D

That's brilliant news. You may find you need to adjust the dose over time depending on his symptoms, he could well be affected by cold weather for example.
