Roger scared the pants off me!

I came downstairs to clean out the pen, and roger was laying half inside the pigloo with his eyes sealed shut and not moving. I said, "roger? " panicking and poked him and he still didn't move. I stroked his back preparing for the worst when he jerked awake and looked irritated that I woke him up! rolleyes I'm just glad he's ok! Anybody have a similar experience?

Yes love, Velvet does this to me all the time :{ it's the most horrible feeling isn't it..... your heart leaps into your throat and you feel physically ill.....then when they jerk and look at you, it's like YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY x)
 
My piggles haven't done that ....yet. But my dogs do it a lot.... sometimes I am unable to wake them up .... does give you a real scare I can tell you. :...

He must've been having a great sleep :))

When I get Bertie out of his cage and he is dozing I put my hand under his tum to pick him up and he stetches first. It feels lovely and then he snuggles in to my neck as if to say "Still snoozy Mum!"
 
:)) Alfie pig has a habit of stretching and contorting his body funny and staying in the weird position for at least a minute and it always looks like he's keeled over and died. I have to prod him every time
 
Naughty Roger. Do piggies not understand how scary that is! My Caramel used to do quite often.
 
Pumpkin does it all the time! It scares the life out of me every time, naughty pig :))
 
David did this to me a while ago. I was feeding the others and noticed he hadn't come out which is unusual , he lives by the kitchen! So input my hand in his house, no movemet. Opened up his house and there he is fast asleep well until I woke him. Little sod gave me a heart attack!
 
Yes, Jeff has even been known to sleep through the new hay arriving while all the girls are running round and squeaking their heads off! I honestly thought he was dead, but when I poked him he woke up looking all confused and couldn't work out what was going on...I was really cross with him for scaring me so much!
 
My piggies do this sometimes but they usually jump up when I get close. Worst scare I've ever had is when looking after my sisters elderly rat, I went in found her lying there eyes half shut, i poked her she didnt move and i thought for sure she was at deaths door. I picked her up she was limp and still not moving, i sat there holding her not knowing what to dor, the vets were shut and i didnt know how i would tell my sister her rat was dying. Then after about five minutes she suddenly woke up, looked really annoyed at me for waking her and jumped back into her cage to go back to sleep. Never been more relieved in my whole life. :p
 
Treacle has taken to sleeping underneath the fleece cosie she has in her hutch. About once an hour or so, I'll go and move it to make sure she's OK as she doesn't always move. She's not pleased with it, and looks at me as if to say "Mum, just put it back, will you please?"
 
My Lily boy is the worst for that, he gets so comfy and in such a deep sleep, is basically lays on his side and jumps in his sleep as if he is having a fit, you nudge him and talk to him and nothing, you clap and he jumps up!
 
My Rosie did this to me before, I had cleaned the hutch earlier today and when I popped out to check on them Rosie was lying on her side in the main area of the hutch with her back to me.

I ran up to check she was ok, she didn't move. I opened the door and she jumped up and looked at me as if to say 'I was having a lovely dream and you woke me.up' she was obviously in a deep sleep :)

Panics you though doesn't it?! X
