I'm still getting over the shock of losing Abigail today.

Will Rory and Maggie be okay? They seem to be eating and when I checked in they were bundled up together. I have put all the cosies in which Abigail had been in just in case they need it.
Rory had been looking around for her and Maggie seems a little lost.

Any suggestions?

I don't think there is anything you can do. When Amina passed away my piggies were very lost and quiet and spent more time together then usual. I just hugged them. It will help that Rory and Maggie have each other. I really am sorry for your loss.

Aww, it's good they still have eachother too turn to for company, which will be a lot better for both of them, as they aren't alone!

I really hope they begin to pick up soon and get back too themselves quickly :)

I hope everything gets better for you and the piggies soon xx

Aww Jess, I am so sorry you are having to face this. They have each other, expect them to be quiet for a few days. Piggies grieve as we do but they get on with surviving. Cookie used to look for Treacle which was Horrid to see, but she adjusted within 3 days or so. Rory and Maggie have each other so hopefully they will comfort each other. Just make sure they are both eating okay.

Hugs x

i expect they will be quiet for a while as they adjust and grieve. it is good that they have each other for comfort. really sorry for your loss. x

It was so sad seeing Rory going up the ramp looking for her, Maggie now has to get use to the fact her has to get her own food as she can't pinch it from Abigail anymore. I stayed with them when I gave them their dinner last night and heard so loud chomping coming from where Maggie was hiding.

My piggies always grieve and go very quiet for a few days when one of them has gone, irrespective of whether she has been in the group or not. I must admit that it is disheartening. Give your two time to grieve. The one good thing that you do not have to face with having more than one bereaved piggy is acute pining/not eating, unless there has been an extremely close bond. The loss of a big character and a top sow is a tough time for you all.

Maggie will also have to grapple with the fact that she is now the top sow and will have to sort out her new relationship with Rory, too.

I saw Maggie doing the most cutest rumble strut ever yesterday!
