Junior Guinea Pig
Rosie used to be married to the lovely Wills, and they were very happy together. Since Wills passed away, Rose has been resolutely single, resisting all attempts at integration with any of my other sows. Given that piggies are social animals, I knew she couldn't stay lonesome forever.
First I contacted the local RSPCA, and Rose was allowed to sniff a few candidates. Alas, though she was interested, they had red eyes. The Alpha Human is disturbed by this, and so we went back to the drawing board.
At about the same time, a lovely ginger piggie called Laurel was searching for a Forever Home. The Human saw him and was excited. She contacted Jenny at Crawley Guinea Pig Rescue and crossed her fingers.
Laurel was so very lovely that he had already found his new home, but JOY! Jenny had some other potential mates for Rose. Rose would have to wait, though, as The Human did not want babies!
Yesterday, Jenny brought 4 boys to see Rose, including Fred and Colin, gorgeous Ginger boars. The Human was smitten with Fred, and bonding commenced. Fortunately, Rose liked him too!
Fred could not remain Fred, though - Fred and Rose are not good combination names, and so her became Basil Frederick, also known as Basil the Bronze! He is settling in beautifully, and has charmed The Human's piggy cynical sisters. He has not met his other wives yet, but is getting on swimmingly with his new lady friend.
Here he is!
