Hi everyone,my piggies are currently on Burgess excel nuggets but I have read the Rosewood meadow menu are good and I'm thinking about changing. Has anyone tried them? Do you think they're a good pellet? Rosewood Meadow Menu
Thanks for any replies.

I liked the idea of these as they are grain less but my boars were not impressed. They smell very strong and are quite large. They didn't eat any for two days but started to pick at them after this but didn't eat them as quickly as they do Excell or the Pro Plus ones from Pets4You which are their favourite, I wouldn't buy these again for mine but all piggies are different!

I started mine off on them, but they weren't happy so changed mine to science selective. So long as yours eats it, I wouldn't worry

Thank you for the replies. I may try them on some they aren't fussy so fingers crossed they'll like them. Are they a better pellet than Burgess?

It''s the yucca that put''s me off Rosewood pellets ....

Thanks for replying? Is there a food you'd recommend? I use Fibafirst for my rabbit,is it any good for the piggies?
@helen105281 is the best person to advise.

Unfortunately, my guineas are rebels and won't eat the best pellets. Mine eat Burgess with mint. I would class Burgess as OK - not the best - but OK

You spoil them PiggyOwner that's why there fussy, but I suppose mine are two.
:))

Someone I knew was looking into these pellets and was concerned about the Yucca but I have fed them. Mine weren't overly keen after the first box though. I am struggling to find a grainless one they will eat after their favourite Vitakraft was discontinued. I still think the Rosewood are a lot more natural than the non grainless pellets. JR farms complete is good too, but again mine won't eat them. I am preparing a pellet guide but have been snowed under at work the last few months and I am writing it on my lunchbreaks.

Oh - how true :))

mine at a 9 kg bag,but i found they had all lost weight !they also ate bunny guinea pig dream pellet, but i did go cold turkey with that group of guinea pigs and only offered the one pellet !mine seem to eat anything!:)

I've tried my guinea pigs on loads of stuff recommended on forums and they won't touch any of it. I commend people who can get their guinea pigs to eat horrible smelling pellets from places like Zoo Plus and Pets at Home but mine won't. I've thrown away so much food in the past. My guinea pigs are 5 and 6 years old and they like Wagg Guinea Pig crunch and that's what I'm sticking with. All this guff about pellets is just manufacturers trying to sell stuff. If you feed your guinea pigs correctly the dry food is only a small part of their diet anyway.

I agree - pellets should only be a small part of a guinea pigs diet . It is far more important to give them unlimited hay and the right sort of fresh veggies .

Mine won't eat any of the grainless pellets either . Like you, I have spent a fortune on different types of pellets and the only brand mine like are Burgess ! I was able to rehome my Bunny Guinea Pig dream to another forum member - which I was very pleased about as it's much better than wasting them .

One thing to bear in mind is , some of our members have guinea pigs with health issues and have found the grainless varieties have helped in keeping their condition under control . I have a guinea pig that has recently been diagnosed with interstitial Cystitis so, I may well be trying to introduce grainless pellets gain !

I totally fail to see what the point is in feeding guinea pigs pellets they won't eat, or how them not eating the stuff that's apparently good for them is any help in health issues.

Did you mean Interstitial cystitis?
