Rosie and Lily the two bandits

Thank you all! Pushing through, one step in front of the other.

Update on sweet Lily; we are doing a 5 day course of diuretics to reduce fluid build-up in her lungs and based off of how she responds, we will most likely be going on heart medication. End of 2025 the diagnosis was unclear and though on X-ray and ultrasound today Lily’s heart appeared enlarged, we didn’t see anything concrete and can’t be 100% - heart disease is most likely the cause, though.

She is a happy girl and sister Rosie is a blessing, always close to her and being an absolute superstar.

Mum, sister and forum friends love you very much Lily, if we can help you with this, we will🧡
We also have an update on sweet Lily.

I didn’t post here when it all happened as I was overwhelmed. Sometimes writing helps, other times it adds to hurt. But we discovered pneumonia!

The diuretics helped, but fluid obviously returned after coming off them. We went on a 4 week course of antibiotics (which she loved as the medication resembles banana taste) and her breathing improved tremendously and has remained stable.

The X-rays still show some haziness in her lungs, we can’t tell what it is. Could be left-over infection, perhaps some damage from pneumonia, or the vet warned me it could be very early stages of a tumor as well. So for now she is under supervision and will be having another X-ray in the near future.

She will also be remaining on heart medication as her heart is enlarged and there was irregular beating.

Everything seemed to feed into each other, like a vicioys cycle. Luckily she remained active, curious and happy throughout the ordeal.
