My little rosie went to the vets today as even though i am a rescue and experienced i still need my vet and am so blessed she is a guinea pig vet. Rosie is 2 and has had wet behind for week all other things normal. I have had text advice off our vet then took her in today. She diagnosed small yet thickened bladder wall and did after pain relief did bladder massage. A considerable amount of gritty calcium thick urine squirted out ! Which relieved blockage. Rosie is already on lower calcium diet so we are just reviewing that again and she is on metacam and injections once week. Lets hope things settle now and sudocrem soothes her sore skin bless her. The wonders of a good vet. X

Hope this is not a bladder stone Helen. Lets hope it is an infection that can be cleared up. Poor Rosie, hope she feels better soon. x>>

Glad the vet got her sorted quickly! Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery!

Hi Helen, It was Hannah that operated on Pinkie, one of my sows a few years ago, she found out that she had ovarian cysts and also a stone in her urethra, this was causing a build up of urine, as the flow wasn't as it should have been. She was trying to treat the infection that the stone had helped cause, but Pinkie was resistant to almost all the antibiotics Hannah tried, unfortunatley we lost her in the end, despite our best efforts.:0 I would not hestate if I thought I needed her advice, as Hannah is very knowledgable.
