Roy's new friend PERSIE!

So here is Persie finally out. We tried to get him to eat and he nibbled on some broccoli and licked a bit of banana off my finger. VERY slowly but hopefully surely...

The last one is to show how his nails are. Pretty bad we think. We managed to trim one paw and a half. Will see how we get on later this week.

Adorable! Very bad nails. Good thing you've got him, I don't think those nails boded well for his future with his former owner. Excellent that he licked banana off your finger. Sounds like he is definitely on his way to becoming confident with you. My boys started off only eating when I wasn't in the room, now they are the noisiest things in the house with their loud squealing demands for veggies.

Update on Persie - had him on my lap for about half an hour this evening and managed to cut the nails on another paw. Phew! Only one more paw left!

He's been coming out of his hiding spot and nibbling hay, drinking a little bit of water and pottering in his hutch.

Poor Roy was 'booping' while I was with Persie . Think it was for some fresh veggies and fruit! Wonder if Roy can smell Persie and maybe thinking what he heck is that!?!?

They probably are aware of each other. My boys were curious about each other while they were living in separate cages side by side and the one that was not being held would be squealing. Seems to have boded well for their bonding because they have been living together for well over a year now. Hope it's the same with Roy and Persie!
