Is anyone else finding the quality of supermarket veg has deterated? This is my Fresh! Corrandior :( that I brought yesterday and I had to rummage to find the best bag, only to open it this morning and find this wilted yucky slimy mess (which was binned). Grrr
The photos are not very clear sorry.

That's happened to me lots of times. The best I've found for coriander/parsley is Morrisons the bunched ones out of bags. The others totally take the mick! x

Ohhhh thank you, I will check the Morrison veg when I'm in the big city on Monday thank you for that tip :) . I live in a village near a small town so I'm stuck with two small supermarkets I wish we still had the trust greengrocers :(

That's happened to me too. I've stopped buying it reduced to the pennies as once got spinach which was rotting down and smelt all horrible and sweet. Piggies were not impressed.

Might just buy the potted version of herbs.

Plus I found Morrisons tend to have dodgy veggies and don't look as fresh. That's why I go to asda for the piggies veggies or Aldi :)

Oh bleurgh, that's not good!

I too buy the bunched coriander in Morrisons, if I can. It seems to be lasting really well in a glass of water in the fridge. Sometimes the guinea pigs even let us eat some (rather grudgingly, I must admit!)

I often buy the potted herbs too as they seem better there is just less of it that's all, I'm going to nip to the pet shop on Monday as I'm still trying to find the large coloured play stick tunnels that P@H do, they have been out of stock of them for months now :( the Aldi is near it so I will pop in there to check out their veggies :) thanks Jess

I've stopped buying potted coriander from Aldi as it goes slimy after a day or two. The flat leaf parsley is great.

Coriander - a nightmare trying to get a decent bag/pot of it ( I've tried all of the shops) and I love the stuff ( piggies quite partial too but they prefer parsley which they're only allowed as an occasional treat). The bigger bags from Sainsburys are usually the best but even they have runs of it being icky so you need to really check the bag thoroughly before buying and use it within a day or two of purchase.

I get most of the other veggies from LIdl ( their parsley is fine) and they usually have decent bunched carrots with nice tops. The best mini-corns are sainsburys - my lot love these and so do I, they're so quick to prepare! ;)

Morrisons veg used to be tragic. My late husband shopped there as it was close to his work. But would go to Sainsburys just for veg. I don't buy veg at supermarkets now and go to a farm shop ( which is 6 miles away) where you get carrots with tops without them being more expensive! Nothing is in plastic bags. If you do buy veg in plastic, remove it as soon as you get home. Sainsburys or Aldi is where I go, depends on what I want. I love Aldi, but cannot do a full shop there.

I've given up on coriander the last two bunches I brought from Tesco's have gone over so quickly - I have some pots of parsley that are growing well- but there treat at the moment is clover - the nice farmer down the road has a field of it and the boys can't get enough of it

Tesco will insist on selling bags of Spinach that have been washed but not dried which makes it go slimy especially when they then go and stack them up on top of each other which bruises the leaves so I end up throwing away lots of each packet. I've also experienced bad coriander from them recently. They used to be so good but I'm now buying more & more of my veggies elswhere x

If it gets squashed it goes off really quickly. I find putting it flat in a tupperware in the fridge helps.

For those wanting coriander and parsley it's really easy to grow from seed and should last longer than the living pots from supermarkets (these tend to flower/die off rapidly due to the shock of being moved around).

I get all my fruit and veg from the supermarket apart from coriander an parsley which i get in large bunches from the local fresh veg stall. It's fantastic, cheap and extremely good! Not the naff tiny bag from the supermarket which don't last 5 minutes x

I wrap the coriander in kitchen roll and put it back in the bag and straight into the fridge, I do this with most of my veg( celery I wrap tightly in tinfoil first) I think this helps keep my veg fresh.
