I noticed that when feeding my guinea pigs the fur was ruffled but I haven’t noticed any changes in behavior, weight, eating habits, nor poop. Should I be concerned?

There could be many reasons for that - perhaps piggy had just had a scratch, or the piggies had been grooming each other. Do they get on well? - if there are tensions in their relationship then maybe there’s had been a scuffle between them. If a guinea pig is looking puffed and hunched up (rather than the fur just being a bit messy) then it can be a sign of pain and in that event piggy would need to be taken to a vet.

I read it online that when there fur puffs up when they are eating( only eating) it means that they are excited over the food and just do it do appear more big from the others so they get all the food to themselves lol. As far as it is just till eating time it's not a big deal

Yea this does happen all the time with some guinea pigs, my sow does it everytime, it can catch you out and make you think they are sick, it's more noticeable in short haired guinea pigs
