Hi all,

I got two piggies last week, have been told their girls (but as they're young, I'm well aware they may not be). They're displaying the behaviour described in the linked post, so relieved to know they're just playing. But wanted to ask if this behaviour is displayed by both boys and girls or if it's a sign I might actually have some boars!

Thank you!

Rumbling at eachother. Then both bounce in the air?!

Yes both popcorning and rumbling is carried out by both sexes. It is absolutely not a way of determining their sex.
Popcorning is a sign of a happy piggy.
Rumbling is a dominance behaviour.

However, you absolutely must confirm their sexes immediately.
By the time piggies are old enough to be sold, determining their sexes should be very easy. They can be sexed from the day of birth.
Boars can make babies from three weeks of age and sows can get pregnant from 4-6 weeks of age. You need to be certain you do indeed have two sows now.

:agr: Please double check their sex now rather than waiting.

Hello and welcome to the forum
Would love to see photos of your little piggies 😊
