I have two boars, Sparky and Scampy-Joe. Sparky is 4 and Scampy-Joe is 8 and half weeks they are closely bonded but I keep hear one of them rumbling at the other (I am not sure which), I always associate rumbling with aggression yet there doesn't appear to be any. I have witnessed them when one of them is rumbling however their is no aggression. Any ideas?

I believe your littlest boar should sound incredibly sweet when he starts rumbling - like a pea rattling about in a tin can as his vocal chords will take time to develop! So it's more than likely his adopted daddy, and possibly even a reassuring sound as piggies do use sounds for more than one meaning. Rumbling at his little boy to get him to stay safe inside a hidey hole for example.

Thank you, I find you reply slighty concerning Sarah if his vocal cords aren't fully developed does that include his wheek? If so crumbs, he has got a massive mouth on him now.

No, I just mean his voice will deepen. I find the first few rumbles utterly charming to be honest. The rumble deepens in female piggies too, they start with a higher pitched 'smaller' sounding rumble and then this develops into the real deal. As for wheeking - that's a real 'help me' sound so they can all wheek really loudly very fast. You never know - perhaps you have an opera singer of a piggie there....no amplification needed!
