As you may have seen in the Heath section Mocha seemed to have started to develop dental issues.
She had picked up last week and seemed to be responding to medication a little. We were due to go and see a specialist vet next week however mocha had a bad turn over the weekend. She just wasn't improving.
We took her to the vets on Saturday morning and thankfully there was a vet on duty who loves guinea pigs and knows a lot about them.
She spent a long time looking her over and confirmed that the teeth were causing problems however there was another issue causing her not to eat. She could feel something in her stomach which was most likely the reason for her loss of appetite. she wasn't sure what and offered to do X-rays etc to establish what was wrong.
After a long chat with the vet we decided the kindest thing to do was put her to sleep.
It was such a hard decision but one we did in the best interests of her.
I just couldn't see her suffer any longer and I hope she is now resting peacefully wherever she is.
