On 16th November 2015, my beautiful little guinea pig Peanut (the beige one in the photograph) passed away at just 17 months old. We had only had him and his brother, Chester for just over a year, but what a year it was.

Peanut, you brought us so much fun and happiness during your short life. You really were a cheeky little guy who loved attention and loved to wheek for food whenever you heard a rustle. I miss you welcoming me home so much - the house just isn't the same without you. I miss your cuddles and your gorgeous green eyes. I loved watching you racing around and popcorning with Chester - you were such an excitable piggie who didn't like to stay still for long. When you did rest, you looked super cute cuddled up like a little cashew nut.

I was so upset when you became ill and started losing your hair, but you fought through and it had pretty much grown back. Sadly you then became sick again and despite putting up a good fight, you were unable to win it this last time.

Chester and I miss you so, so much. We loved you dearly and always will. Goodnight my little baby - rest in peace and run free and popcorn with your new piggie friends over the rainbow bridge. xxxxxxxxxx

Thanks Wiebke. I have posted another thread under the behaviour and bonding heading as we are currently trying to bond Chester with another male. Your advice wouold be highly valued if you have time.

:( So sorry for your loss. Peanut was a beautiful little boy. Popcorn free, Peanut. :bye:

So sorry to hear of your loss and I hope little peanut is zooming around, over and under the rainbow bridge

I am so very sorry for the loss of your stunning piggy. Massive hugs

RIP Peanut

Thanks everyone. Peanut really was amazing and has left us with so many fantastic memories. Glad to say that Chester is now a lot happier again too. We've managed to find him a baby male friend around 8 weeks old and they bonded straight away. They've been together for 2 weeks and baby Lloyd (as we've named him) is taking over the role of cheeky little piggie from Peanut.
