Is this okay for play time.

The idea would be that we could have three of these set up at the same time, which means we can maybe get some more piggies from the rescue in due course, as the mrs is coming round to getting another cage built.

Guess my thinkng is that while they will lose some space for floor time, the offset would be that we can save some more piggies and give them a loving home.

Is this a fair trade off.

My only advice when considering a separate outdoor run is practicality. How are you going to them them out of the run..?

Now I trained mine to hear "piggy train" in a High pitched voice to recognise they needed to jump into their carry case next to the run...this took some time.

Always thinking....;)

We have a wooden one in the apex style, we use a cuddle sack to catch ours in. I'm think of getting a larger one with an opening top to make it easier to catch them, it is a bit of s struggle with the bottom end of the apex run sometimes...

They are hard enough to catch in the current one. Just thinking ahead and think this will make life easier during the week, they would still get the big run on a weekend.
