I have been researching running lice for my first aid kit/resources list (my pigs don't have lice)

I'm very confused as to what would be used in the USA. Most of the links people have posted link to a page that suggests "Advantage" but then I also ran across information that they had changed the formula and it is no longer safe. Is it?

Also, there are about a million "advantage" products, which one would you get? A direct link to the product on Amazon might be a good way to reduce confusion.

Also, how much do you use?

Any other USA treatments?

What products for cleaning the cage after lice from the USA too....

Let's discuss....

Thanks Jerrybelly,
I know the Gorgeous Guineas shampoo is a great option for lice and that they ship to the US, but it takes 2 weeks to get it delivered and the shipping cost is high.

I appreciate the thought and the reply but the point of the thread was to discuss options that are actually available in the USA.

It does go back to my first point though, there really isn't any good inforamtion about lice treatments in the USA.

Does anyone else have any experiences to contribute?

Only ever had one case of running lice in the history of having pigs. Tried the shampoo route, but having to bath both boys from the cage twice caused them more stress than it was worth - it also meant waiting on results. In the end, after two treatments as suggested, it seemed to do nothing (he was a black pig, so easy to see!) so I opted to go out and buy a spot on treatment. Worked straightaway and I would have no hesitation in doing this again.
